Gabriel Groiss is a respected global expert in the field of Democratic Education, currently living with his family in Berlin.
With a deep passion for education, Gabriel has been working as an educator since 2007 across various educational settings, always placing a strong emphasis on Nature Pedagogy and Democratic Learning.
He served as the Pedagogical Director of the Free-Democratic School in Nature, “PlayaEscuela El Médano,” a unique school founded in 2016 on the beautiful Canary Islands. Since 2023, he has taken on the role of Pedagogical Director at Naturkindergarten Berlin Mitte, a kindergarten deeply rooted in nature and child-centered education.
As the Coordinator of EUDEC’s External Communication and Lobbying Circle, Gabriel is dedicated to expanding public awareness and acceptance of Democratic Education—not just in schools, but at academic, legal, political, and even economic levels. His hope is that more families around the world will gain access to self-directed, rights-based learning environments, where democratic participation becomes a natural part of children's everyday lives.
Gabriel is now working on a special project: a series of heartfelt interviews with experts from around the globe on the subject of Democratic Education. His goal is to make these conversations available to anyone who is curious or passionate about this approach.
