Theresa Dunn

With over 40 years of learning, practice, and advocacy, Theresa Dunn has dedicated her

career to cultivating a culture of peace—personally, socially, and politically. She helps

individuals and communities integrate peace principles into daily life, encouraging people to celebrate strengths, face limitations with compassion, and navigate challenges with courage.

Through her consulting practice (tdunnconsulting.ca), Theresa offers guidance in mental

health, addictions, cognitive and behavioural challenges, and overcoming systemic barriers to positive change. She specializes in peace-building, conflict transformation, mediation, and restorative justice. For over 30 years, Theresa has worked with individuals, grassroots

groups, and international organizations on issues including women, peace, and security;

trauma recovery; racism and genocide; mental health support; and workplace violence.

Some of her accomplishments have included 13 years as National and Local Co-Chair of the Canadian Peace Initiative. She has campaigned for a Department of Peace in Canada. She served as a board member and assessor for Civilian Peace Service Canada, accrediting peace professionals. Currently, her work includes coordinating fundraising and advocacy for asylum-seeking families (arnpriorcares.ca), facilitating community forums on Seeking Peace, authoring articles and presenting on conflict resolution and nonviolence, and co-producing educational videos on racism awareness and peaceful alternatives to conflict.
